FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 In days gone by, Paddra Nsu-Yeul was born the Seeress and Caius Ballad was appointed her Guardian. A tireless, fearsome, and dedicated warrior determined to protect his charge, Caius's great victories in the name of the seeress and the greater good were celebrated in song and story. Each time the Seeress is reincarnated, it is Caius who must protect her until her preordained and insecapable death, only to face losing Yeul again and again with each generation. Furious at this tragedy, the former hero turns cold and ruthless, determined to break the cycle by destroying time itself. With countless years of experience behind him, few fighters can match Caius for strength and skill, and his dedication to his intentions makes him a formidable foe. He cannot be swayed or bribed, and considers the structure of time to be a small price to pay to bring Yeul her final peace. After failing in this mission, he turns cynical and embittered. |
Caius' default canon point follows the events of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, but this is flexible. I can play in action or prose, past or present tense, as needed.
